Billy
Petty (tenor)
has a Bachelor's Degree in Music-Voice Performance. He has been married for eight years to Amy, who graduated from the same program and has a great music career. In 2000, they moved from their homeland of Michigan to the Philly area; after 2 years they found their way to God's
country, New Hampshire, and have been living here for over 5 years.
Billy's musical appreciation and performance styles include contemporary Christian, bluegrass,
country,
rock, R&B, old school rap, classical and much more. He's directed
choirs of 100, conducted orchestras of 50, and has done studio
recording for
R&B recording artists as a back-up singer, keyboard player, drummer,
and guitar player. He's had lead roles in operas and musicals, and produced and engineered a CD of contemporary Christian music at his current church. For the last 15 years, Billy has been a hired classical
soloist, singing in Bach's St. John Passion, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation, and more.
Billy's profession is leading worship and music ministries in churches, and he's been doing this since the tender age of 15. He is currently the Worship Pastor at
Rockingham Christian Church in Salem, NH
where he leads the music ministry and wears a couple of other leadership hats. Billy and Amy live in Londonderry, NH, have 2 dogs, and no
kids...yet. The NHMC has been the missing link in Billy's musical pilgrimage for the last 10 years or so. He considers it a great privilege
to rub shoulders with other serious musicians who enjoy making great music - and as NHMC alto Cheryll Andrews has said, "being part of the
chord."

Having recently moved to New Hampshire from Philadelphia, she looks forward to the joy and challenge of performing the wide variety of music presented by this ensemble. During her college career as a member of the Temple University singers, she participated in numerous performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, both at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia and Carnegie Hall.
